📘 Discount Policy for Reusing Original Scans (Partial & Denture Designs)

Overview

CAE Dental offers a discount for partial and denture cases when we are able to reuse the original scan data from a previous case. This applies when a design needs to be converted between Split File and Monoblock formats without requiring new clinical scans.
This guide explains when the discount applies, when it does not, and how to ensure your case qualifies.

💡 When the Discount Applies

A discount is applied only when:

✔ The original scan data is reused without changes

This includes:

• Converting a Split File Design → Monoblock, or
• Converting a Monoblock → Split File Design

✔ No new scans are uploaded

We must be able to use the exact same scans from the original case.

✔ No clinical changes have occurred

The original scans must still accurately represent:

• Tissue surfaces
• Occlusion
• Bite relationship
• Denture/partial seating

If the original data is still valid, the design conversion requires less work, and the discount applies.

❌ When the Discount Does NOT Apply

The discount does not apply if any new scans are uploaded, including:

New Wash Scans

• Updated impressions
• Tissue changes
• Adjusted borders or extensions

Occlusal Adjustments

• New bite scans
• Changes in vertical dimension
• Updated occlusal relationships

Bite Changes

• New bite registration
• New centric relation
• Any modification affecting occlusion

Any Scan That Replaces or Alters the Original Data

If we cannot reuse the original scan exactly as it was, the case no longer qualifies for the discount.

📌 Why the Discount Is Removed When New Scans Are Uploaded

When new scans are provided, the case becomes a new design, not a simple conversion.
This requires:

• Re‑evaluation of anatomy
• New alignment and segmentation
• Updated occlusion setup
• Additional design time
• New file preparation

Because the workload is equivalent to a new case, the discount no longer applies.

📤 How to Ensure Your Case Qualifies

To receive the discount:

1. Do not upload new scans
2. Confirm that the original scans still accurately represent the patient
3. Request the conversion (Split File ↔ Monoblock) using the existing case
4. Note in the RX that you want the original scans reused

If new scans are required for clinical accuracy, the case will be billed at the standard rate.
