📘 How to Upload Additional Files After Submission

Overview

Sometimes you may need to upload extra scans, photos, or documents after your case has already been submitted. CAE Dental makes this easy by allowing you to add files directly inside the order page. This guide explains how to do it and what types of files you can attach.


📂 When You Should Upload Additional Files

You may need to add files after submission if:

  • 🦷 A new scan is required
  • 📸 You forgot to include shade photos
  • 📝 You need to update case notes or instructions
  • 🔄 We request additional information to continue the design
  • 🧩 You’re sending a corrected bite or new impression

Uploading promptly helps avoid delays in turnaround time.


📤 Step‑by‑Step: Uploading Additional Files

1. Log In to Your Account

  • Visit caedental.com
  • Click My Account
  • Enter your login credentials

2. Open Your Orders

Navigate to:
My Account → Orders

You’ll see a list of all active and past cases.


3. Select the Case

Click the order number for the case you want to update.
This opens the Order Details page.


4. Scroll to the Upload Section

Inside the order page, you’ll find an area labeled:

“Drag & Drop Files”
or
“Add Files”

This section allows you to attach new files at any time.


5. Upload Your Files

You can upload:

  • STL / PLY / OBJ scans
  • JPG / PNG / HEIC photos
  • ZIP / RAR compressed files
  • PDF / TXT documents

Drag‑and‑drop or click Choose File to select from your device.

Tips:

  • Use clear file names (e.g., “NewBite.stl”, “ShadePhoto.jpg”)
  • Upload all required components together when possible

6. Add Notes (Optional but Helpful)

If the new files replace older ones or include important updates, add a short note such as:

  • “Updated upper arch scan”
  • “Corrected bite alignment”
  • “Shade photo added”
  • “Implant system details attached”

This ensures our designers know exactly what changed.


7. Confirm the Upload

Once uploaded, the files will appear in the case file list.
You’re all set — our team will automatically be notified.


⚠️ If We Request Additional Files

If you receive a message like:

“Awaiting Additional Files”

or

“Scan Files Missing”

Please upload the requested items as soon as possible.
Cases cannot move forward until the required files are received.

  • Upload shade photos for anterior cases
  • Send corrected bites immediately if you notice misalignment
  • Use ZIP files for large photo sets
  • Keep your scanner export settings consistent
