A Nightguard is a occlusal guard that has no functionality. It is a removable, custom-fitted plastic appliance that fits between the upper and lower arch to prevent teeth from grinding against each other.

whats the difference between the night guard and the bite splint?

Answer:

The Night Guard CAD design is essentially just a shell with the desired thickness your office prefers. It has no functionality to it like a Bite Splint which can incorporate ramps and TMJ issues.
