đ How to Request a Revision or Adjustment
Overview
CAE Dental offers free revisions and adjustments to ensure your final design meets your clinical and esthetic expectations, if requested within allowed timeframe and off the original scans. This guide explains how to request a revision, what information to include, and how to avoid delays in the adjustment process.
đ When to Request a Revision
You may request a revision if:
- The design needs occlusal adjustments
- Margins need refinement
- Contacts are too tight or too light
- Aesthetic changes are needed (shape, contour, translucency)
- Implant screwâchannel angulation needs modification
- The patient requests a different look
- You need a different material or design option
Revisions are a normal part of the workflow â especially for anterior, implant, and fullâarch cases.
đ§ StepâbyâStep: How to Request a Revision
1. Log In to Your Account
- Visit caedental.com
- Go to My Account â Orders
2. Open the Case
Click the order number for the case you want revised.
This opens the Order Details page.
3. Scroll to the Communication or Notes Section
Youâll see a field labeled:
- âRequest Redesignâ
- âAdd a Commentâ
This is where you submit your revision request.
4. Describe the Revision Clearly
Provide specific, actionable instructions such as:
- âTighten mesial contact slightly.â
- âReduce occlusion on #30 by 0.2mm.â
- âIncrease translucency on the incisal third.â
- âMove midline 1mm to the patientâs left.â
- âAdjust emergence profile for better tissue support.â
- âCorrect screwâchannel angulation.â
Tip:
Clear, concise instructions = faster turnaround.
5. Upload Supporting Files (If Needed)
You can attach:
- Photos
- Markups or screenshots
Upload these directly inside the order page under Upload Additional Files.
Please Note: If a redesign is requested using new scans then a redesign will not be performed. New scans need to be treated as a NEW case.
6. Submit the Request
Once your notes and files are added, our design team is automatically notified.
Youâll receive an update when the revised design is ready.
â± Revision Turnaround Times
Most revisions are completed within:
- 12â24 hours for simple adjustments
- 24â48 hours for implant or multiâunit cases
- 48â72 hours for fullâarch or complex esthetic revisions
Providing clear instructions helps keep turnaround fast.
â ïž Common Issues That Delay Revisions
Avoid:
- Vague instructions (âMake it betterâ)
- Missing new bite scans when occlusion changes
- No photos for esthetic corrections
- Missing implant system/platform details
- Uploading files without explaining what changed
These often require clarification before we can proceed.
đ Tips for the Smoothest Revision Process
- Be specific about what needs to change
- Upload photos or screenshots with markup
- Provide a new bite scan if occlusion is being corrected
- Note whether the patient has seen the design
- Mention if the revision is urgent
