📘 How to Send Digital Scans From DEXIS (formerly Carestream Dental)

Overview

DEXIS® scanners — previously known as Carestream Dental — integrate seamlessly with CAE Dental through the DEXIS Connect platform. Once connected, you can send cases directly or export raw STL files for manual upload. This guide explains how to add CAE Dental as a preferred lab and how to submit your scans efficiently.

🔗 Step 1: Access DEXIS Connect (Carestream Connect)

On your DEXIS scanner interface:

  • Open DEXIS Connect
    (Older systems may still display “Carestream Connect” — both refer to the same platform.)
  • Ensure you are logged in with your practice or lab account

DEXIS Connect is where you manage lab connections and send digital cases.

🔍 Step 2: Search for CAE Dental Lab

Inside DEXIS/Carestream Connect:

  • Navigate to the Lab Search, Connections, or Partner Labs section
  • Search for CAE Dental Lab

If multiple listings appear, select the one associated with [email protected].

➕ Step 3: Add CAE Dental as a Connected Lab

Once you locate CAE Dental:

  • Click Add, Connect, or Request Connection
  • Confirm the connection when prompted

After approval, CAE Dental will appear in your list of available labs for future submissions.

📤 Step 4: Submit Raw STL Files (If Not Sending Directly)

If you prefer to export and upload files manually:

  1. Export raw STL files from your DEXIS/Carestream scanner
  2. Choose CAE Dental Lab as the recipient if sending through Connect
  3. Or upload the STL files directly through your CAE Dental account during checkout

Accepted formats:

  • Upper STL
  • Lower STL
  • Bite STL
  • Photos (optional but recommended)
